These instructions help you configure your BT Inspiration phone system to work with TIM Plus. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

Configuring your SMDR

To receive SMDR information from the BT Inspiration you will need to have a BT SystemPhone. You will need to be familiar with programming via the BT SystemPhone. To enable the SMDR output follow the steps below:

  1. From the programming position, press the phone set up key P and select System programming.
  2. Enter the PIN and select System.
  3. Select Call logging and choose Call logging on.
  4. Press HANDSFREE/MONITOR to finish.

Installing NetPBX

The BT Inspiration phone system sends SMDR information via a serial connection. To collect the data from the serial port and send it to TIM Plus, you will first need to install NetPBX software. For setup instructions, click on the link below:

Configuring TIM Plus

Once NetPBX is configured and collecting data, log on to TIM Plus as usual and apply the following settings:

  1. Click on the Directory tab.
  2. Select on the site configured during the setup wizard and clickProperties.

  3. Within the Site Properties window, select BT Inspiration from the PBX model drop-down list.
  4. In the Connection method field select No connection required from the drop-down list.
  5. Click on the Save button to apply the settings

Connection information Description
Connection type Serial Output: The BT Inspiration sends SMDR information via a serial connection. The BT Inspiration has a SMDR/V24 port on the base motherboard. The connection itself is RJ11 and you will need to purchase a V24/SMDR module from your system supplier/maintainer.
Cable configuration Straight-through.

Configuring TIM Plus

Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Plus to listen for SMDR data from your BT Inspiration:

  1. Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.
  2. Click on the Directory tab.
  3. Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click Propertiesor create a new site and click Properties.
  4. BT Inspiration
  5. Within the Site Properties window, select BT Inspiration from the PBX model drop-down list.
  6. In the Connection method field select No connection required from the drop-down list.
  7. Finally, click on the Save button.
