hese instructions help you configure your Avaya BCM phone system version 4.x+ to work with TIM Plus. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

Configuring your SMDR

Below you will find instructions on how to configure your Avaya BCM v4.x+ to output SMDR to TIM Plus:

  1. Login to the BCM Element Manager.
  2. On the Task Navigation Panel, click the Configuration tab.
  3. Click on Telephony.
  4. Click on Call Detail Recording.
  5. On the right-hand side the Call Detail Recording window will appear.
  6. In the Call Detail Recording window, configure the options as below:

CDR User

To enable TIM Plus to connect to your  Avaya BCM v4.x+, you will need to create a CDR User in your phone system. This can be configured within your Business Communications Manager Unified Manager appliction, under the System options.

Configuring TIM Plus

Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Plus to collect the SMDR data from your Avaya BCM:

  1. Log on to TIM Plus and click on the Directory tab.
  2. Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click Properties.

  3. Within the Site Properties window, select Avaya BCM from the PBX model drop-down list.
  4. In the Connection method field select Actively connect to PBX from the drop-down list.
  5. In the Host field enter the IP Address of your Avaya BCM.
  6. In the Port field enter in 4000.
  7. In the Username field enter in CDR User.
  8. In the Password field enter in CDR User again.
  9. In the Connection script field select Avaya BCM v3 from the drop-down list.
  10. Click on the Save button to apply the settings.

 

These instructions should assist in configuring your Avaya BCM to work with TIM Plus. If you are not familiar with PBX configuration, please contact your system maintainer.

Connection information Description
Connection type IP: The Avaya BCM v4.x+ CDR information is sent via TCP/IP. The actual installation of TIM Plus can be anywhere on the network that the PBX is connected to.
IP method TIM Plus will connect to the IP address of your Avaya BCM v4.x+.

Configuring your SMDR

Below you will find instructions on how to configure your Avaya BCM v4.x+ to output SMDR to TIM Plus:

  1. Login to the BCM Element Manager.
  2. On the Task Navigation Panel, click the Configuration tab.
  3. Click on Telephony.
  4. Click on Call Detail Recording.
  5. On the right-hand side the Call Detail Recording window will appear.
  6. In the Call Detail Recording window, configure the options as below:

    Date Format MM/DD/YY
    Header Format Line/Station

CDR User

For TIM Plus to connect to the Avaya BCM v4.x+ you will need to create a CDR User on it. This can be done in the BCM Elements Manager application, under the System options.

Configuring TIM Plus

Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Plus to listen for SMDR data from your Avaya BCM 4.0:

  1. Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.
  2. Click on the Directory tab.
  3. Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click Properties or create a new site and click Properties.
  4. Avaya BCM 4.0
  5. Within the Site Properties window, select Avaya BCM from the PBX model drop-down list.
  6. In the Connection method field select Actively connect to PBX from the drop-down list.
  7. In the Host field enter the IP Address of your Avaya BCM.
  8. In the Port field enter in 4000.
  9. In the Username field enter in CDR User.
  10. In the Password field enter in CDR User again.
  11. In the Connection script field select Avaya BCM v4 from the drop-down list.
  12. Finally, click on the Save button.
