Introduction

Call geography

This report includes graphical pie charts by volume and cost, along with a table containing complete information about where, geographically, you're making your calls to.

Calls are classified by their tariff band, eg. local, national, mobile, international, etc.

Allows you to quickly identify which call locations are costing you the most, and taking up the most call time.

Understanding the Results

When selecting Web as the output format, this report will appear as above.

The Web format allows for complete flexibility when viewing any report. To view details of any filters or selection parameters used in creating this report, simply click on About this report at the top right of the page.

All headers are clickable allowing you re-arrange the report layout in seconds, to sort the calls in ascending or decending order based on the header clicked.

The final report consists of three pie charts, and a table.

Pie charts

  • The left-hand pie chart shows the amount of calls to the various destinations
  • The centre graph shows the time spent on calls to each location
  • The right-hand chart shows the cost of calls to each destination.

Table

This shows in detail the amount of calls that were made to the specific destination, also expressed as a percentage of all calls, along with the average, total and percentage costs associated with each destination.

The headers of the table are as follows:

Header Description
Charge band The Charge band represents the area dialled, International, Local, National, Other and Personal /Mobile.

All chargebands have hyperlinks to allow you to drill-down further to see which site, department, extension or person made the call.

% of calls This column shows the number of calls as a percentage of the total calls made. To re-order, simply click on the header to alternate between descending and ascending.
Number of calls This column lists the actual number of calls made to each of the charge band shown with the total number of calls for that period showing on the summary line. To re-order, simply click on the header and the report will alternate between the charge band with the most calls and the charge band with the least calls.
% of total duration The % of total duration shows the number of calls as a percentage of the total duration of calls made. e.g. 1% of the dotal duration was spent on International calls.
Average duration It shows the average duration spent on calls to this charge band. This is ideal if you are speaking to your carrier about issues like call capping, particularly if the average call duration is quite high. You can re-order to sort in descending and ascending order of average call duration by clicking on the header.
Total duration This column shows the total amount of time spend on calls to a particular chargeband. To re-order, simply click on the header to alternate between descending and ascending.
% of total cost The percentage of total cost allows you to see what percentage of the total cost of all calls was spent on calls to this chargeband.
Average cost It shows the average cost of calls made to this chargeband. To re-order, simply click on the header to alternate between descending and ascending.
Total cost This column shows the total cost of calls made to this chargeband. To re-order, simply click on the header to alternate between descending and ascending.

The summary line at the foot of the table shows the total number of calls included in the report, the total duration of calls, average and total costs.
