These instructions should assist in configuring your Samsung iDCS to work with TIM Plus. If you are not familiar with PBX configuration, please contact your system maintainer.

Connection information Description
Connection type Serial Output or IP: If the Samsung iDCS is configured to send SMDR information via a serial connection, you will need to directly connect a serial cable from the Samsung iDCS PBX to the PC that NetPBX is installed and running on.
Cable configuration Straight-through.
IP Method If the Samsung iDCS is configured to send the SMDR information via TCP/IP, the actual installation of TIM Plus can be anywhere on the network that the PBX is connected to. The Samsung iDCS will need to be configured to output SMDR data via TCP/IP, so TIM Plus can connect to it. TIM Plus will connect to the Samsung iDCS on a specific TCP port.

Configuring your SMDR

Below you will find instructions on how to configure your Samsung iDCS to output SMDR to TIM Plus. You will need to use the Samsung Installation Tool:

  1. Open and login to the Samsung Installation Tool.
  2. On the left-hand side click and expand 5. Features.
  3. Click on 5.6 System I/O Options.
  4. Click on 5.6.2. LAN Printer. On the right-hand side you will have LAN Printer options. The first column will be SMDR. Below are the options and how they need to be configured:

  6. Click on the Save icon at the top to save the settings.
  7. On the left-hand side click on 5.6.3. SMDR Options. On the right-hand side you will see the SMDR Options. Below are the options and how they need to be configured:

  9. Click on the Save icon at the top to save the settings.

Configuring TIM Plus

Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Plus to listen for SMDR data from your Samsung iDCS:

  1. Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.
  2. Click on the Directory tab.
  3. Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click Propertiesor create a new site and click Properties.
  4. Samsung iDCS
  5. Within the Site Properties window, select LG IPLDK from the PBX model drop-down list.
  6. In the Connection method field select Actively connect to PBX from the drop-down list.
  7. In the Host field enter the IP Address of your Samsung iDCS.
  8. In the Port field enter in 9000.
  9. Leave the Username and Password fields blank.
  10. In the Connection script field select Samsung from the drop-down list.
  11. Finally, click on the Save button.
