These instructions should assist in configuring your BT Inspiration to work with TIM Enterprise. If you are not familiar with PBX configuration, please contact your system maintainer.

Connection information Description
Connection type Serial Output: The BT Inspiration sends SMDR information via a serial connection. The BT Inspiration has a SMDR/V24 port on the base motherboard. The connection itself is RJ11 and you will need to purchase a V24/SMDR module from your system supplier/maintainer.
Cable configuration Straight-through.

You will need to directly connect a serial cable from the V24/SMDR module to the PC that NetPBX is installed and running on.

Configuring your SMDR

To receive SMDR information from the BT Inspiration you will need to have a BT SystemPhone. You will need to be familiar with programming via the BT SystemPhone. To enable the SMDR output follow the below steps:

  1. From the programming position, press the phone set up key P and select System programming.
  2. Enter the PIN and select System.
  3. Select Call logging and choose Call logging on.
  4. Press HANDSFREE/MONITOR to finish.

Configuring TIM Enterprise

Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Enterprise to listen for SMDR data from your BT Inspiration:

  1. Browse to TIM Enterprise as normal and login with your credentials.
  2. Click on the Directory tab.
  3. Go the the point in the Directory where you need to add the PBX Object and add a PBX with the name 'BT Inspiration'.
  4. Left-click on it and select Properties.
  5. From the General settings tab select BT Inspiration from the PBX model list.

  7. In the Connection tab select Listen for connection from PBX from the Connection method list.
  8. In the Port field enter in 9000.
  9. Finally, click on the Save button.
