What is a billing charge?

Billing Charge is a monetary amount that can be appended to a Phone Bill report, in addition to standard call charges and it can be a percentage or a fixed charge. There is no limit to the number of billing charges that can be added to the Directory and the priority of each one can be specified to determine the order in which they appear on the final Billing Report.

The Billing charge can be applied to an entire bill, to each call or to a user's sub total.


Adding a billing charge

To add an alarm object to the system, drill-down to the Directory level where you want to place the billing charge, and click on the New object tab, as shown below:


In the new window that opens, select the Billing charge object from the Other object list, enter a relevant name and click on the Add button, as shown below:


The alarm will appear in the Directory, as shown below:


Configuring an billing charge

To configure a billing charge, locate the object in the Directory, click on it and select Properties from the drop-down list, as shown below:


A new window will open, allowing you to configure the properties of your billing charge object.

 To rename the billing charge object, overtype the current entry

PriorityThis option allows you to determine the order in which charges are applied to your bill, by allocating a priority to each charge.
How muchBills can be marked up by either a fixed or percentage charge.
How oftenYou can determine the frequency at which the charge is added, by selecting from the list provided, as shown below:
Who forThis option allows you to determine, who the charge applies to. e.g. If you are providing a service whereby you want to add a fixed charge for each user, it is easier to add this charge to the group and apply to each user in the group than to have to go in and add individually to each group.
Propagate this charge down the directory hierarchyEnable this option if you want the charge to apply to


Priority

This option allows you to determine the order in which charges are applied to your bill, by allocating a priority to each charge.


How much?

Bills can be marked up by either a fixed or percentage charge, as shown below:


How often?

You can determine the frequency at which the charge is added, by selecting from the list provided, as shown below:


Who for?
