These instructions help you configure your SwyxWare phone system to work with TIM Plus. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

Configuring your SMDR output

By default, the SWYX Swyx telephone system writes its CDR data to a MSSQL database. In order for TIM Enterprise to connect to the database and collect the call logging data, you need to create a username and password in the MSSQL database on the SWYX Swyx  server. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with this procedure.

The following information is required for TIM Enterprise to connect to the SWYX Swyx  database:

  • IP address or hostname of the  SWYX Swyx server where the MSSQL database resides.
  • Username and Password of the SWYX Swyx database.

The default credentials for the SWYX  Swyx  database are shown below:

Setting up a DSN connection

To enable TIM Plus to work with your Skype for Business phone system, you first need to set up a DSN connection by following the steps below:

  1. Open Windows Control Panel and select the Administrative Tools icon

  2. Double-click on the Data Sources (ODBC) icon to open the ODBC Data Source Administrator window.

    For a 64 bit system, access the ODBC Data Source Administrator from the following location C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

  3. Click on the System DSN tab.
  4. Click on the Add button.
  5. Select SQL Native Client from the driver list and click Finish.
  6. In the Name field, enter swyx.
  7. In the Description field, enter TIM Plus link to swyx.
  8. In the Server field, enter the IP address or hostname of your SWYX Swyx server.
  9. In the Username field, enter the username for your SWYX Swyx database.
  10. In the Password field, enter the password for your SWYX Swyx database.
  11. In the Database drop-down list, select   select swyx.
  12. Click on the Test button to confirm the information you entered is correct and that the connection is successful.
  13. Click on the OK button to close the window.

Once the DSN connection has been set up, log in to TIM Enterprise Plus and perform the following steps below:

  1. Click on the Directory tab.Locate
  2. Choose the PBX object site you want to configure in the Directory, right-click on it and select Properties.
  3. A new window will open. In the General tab, select SWYX V8 from the Data format list and tick the

  11. Click on the Connection tab and select System DSN connection from the Connection method
  12. In the Site Properties window, select SWYX V8 from the PBX model drop-down list.
  13. In the Connection method field, select Connect to a system DSN from the drop-down list.
  14. In the DSN name field,

  16. select swyx from the drop-down list.
  17. In the Frequency field, enter to check for data every five seconds 5.
  18. In the DB script field, select select SWYX V8 from the drop-down list.
  19. Click on the Save button to apply the settings.
