These instructions help you configure your Avaya BCM phone system up to v3.x to work with TIM Plus. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

Configuring your SMDR

Below you will find instructions on how to configure your Avaya BCM up to v3.x to output SMDR to TIM Plus:

  1. Open your Business Communications Manager Unified Manager.
  2. Click on Services.
  3. Click on Call Detail Recording.
  4. On the right-hand side the Summary window will appear. Make sure that the Status is up. If it isn't click on the Status drop-down list and select Up.
  5. Now on the left-hand side click on Report Parameters and configure the fields as per below:

  6. On the left-hand side click on Report Options and configure the fields as per below:

  7. For the Market Parameters settings, please leave as the system defaults.
  8. For the Prefix Bin Options setting please leave as the system defaults.
  9. Once you have completed the above changes, click on Configuration in the file menu and then click on Commit.

CDR User

For TIM Plus to connect to the Avaya BCM v3.x you will need to create a CDR User. This can be done in the Business Communications Manager Unified Manager appliction, under the System options.

The Avaya BCM v3.x connection requires TIM Plus to use the Microsoft DCOM object. Microsoft has increased the security in DCOM after Windows XP Service Pack 2. If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2+ you will need to make sure that the username and password are set as exactly as the same the Windows username and password.

Configuring TIM Plus

Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Plus to collect the SMDR data from your Avaya BCM:

  1. Log on to TIM Plus and click on the Directory tab.
  2. Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click Properties.
  3. Within the Site Properties window, select Avaya BCM from the PBX model drop-down list.
  4. In the Connection method field select Actively connect to PBX from the drop-down list.
  5. In the Host field enter the IP Address of your Avaya BCM.
  6. In the Port field enter in 4000.
  7. In the Username field enter in CDR User.
  8. In the Password field enter in CDR User again.
  9. In the Connection script field select Avaya BCM v3 from the drop-down list.
  10. Click on the Save button to apply the settings.

<h4>CDR User</h4>

<p>For TIM Plus to connect to the Avaya BCM v3.x you will need to 
create a <span class="reference">CDR User</span> on it. This can be done in the Business 
Communications Manager Unified Manager appliction, under the <span class="button">System</span> options.</p>


<p>The Avaya BCM v3.x connection requires TIM Plus to use the Microsoft
 DCOM object. Microsoft has increased the security in DCOM after 
Windows XP Service Pack 2. If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2+ 
you will need to make sure that the username and password are set as 
exactly as the same the Windows username and password.</p>

<h2>Configuring TIM Plus</h2>

<p>Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Plus to listen for SMDR data from your Avaya BCM 3.6:</p>

	<li>Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">Directory</span> tab.</li>
	<li>Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click <span class="button no_margin">Properties</span> or create a new site and click <span class="button no_margin">Properties</span>.</li>

	<li>Within the <span class="reference">Site Properties</span> window, select <span class="keyword">Avaya BCM</span> from the <span class="reference">PBX model</span> drop-down list.</li>

	<li>In the <span class="reference">Password</span> field enter in <span class="keyword">CDR User</span> again.</li>
	<li>In the <span class="reference">Connection script</span> field select <span class="keyword">Avaya BCM v3</span> from the drop-down list.</li>
	<li>Finally, click on the <span class="button no_margin">Save</span> button.</li>
