These instructions help you configure your Siemens OpenOffice phone system to work with TIM Plus. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

				The Siemens OpenOffice requires TIM Plus to connect to it and collect SMDR data via its 'HTTPS' interface.  TIM Plus will perform 'GET' and 'POST' methods to retrieve 
				the SMDR data. The actual installation of TIM Plus can be anywhere on the network that the PBX is connected to.

<p>For your SMDR configuration, you will need to speak to your system maintainer to enable SMDR output.</p>

<h2>Configuring TIM Plus</h2>

<p>You will need to setup a DSN connection for TIM Plus to work with 
the Siemens OpenOffice. Below you will find instructions on how 
to do this within Microsoft Windows:</p>

<ol>
	<li>Click on Windows <span class="button no_margin">Start</span>.</li>
	<li>Click on <span class="button no_margin">Control panel</span>.</li>
	<li>Double click on <span class="button no_margin">Administrative tools</span> icon.</li>
	<li>Double click on <span class="button no_margin">Data Sources (ODBC)</span> icon.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">System DSN</span> tab.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">Add</span> button.</li>
	<li>Select <span class="reference">Native</span> from the list and click <span class="button no_margin">Finish</span>.</li>
	<li>In the <span class="reference">Data source name</span> field enter the following: <span class="keyword">Siemens OpenOffice</span>.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">OK</span> button and then again to close the window.</li>
</ol>

<p>Now you will be able to see the <span class="reference">Siemens OpenOffice</span> in the <span class="button">System DSN</span> list.</p>

<p>An example of ODBC setup is shown below:</p>

<p>Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Plus to use the DSN connection that has just been setup:</p>

	<li>Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">Directory</span> tab.</li>
	<li>Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click <span class="button no_margin">Properties</span>or create a new site and click <span class="button no_margin">Properties</span>.</li>

	<li>Within the <span class="reference">Site Properties</span> window, select <span class="keyword">Siemens OpenOffice</span> from the <span class="reference">PBX model</span> drop-down list.</li>
	<li>In the <span class="reference">Connection method</span> field select <span class="keyword">Connect to a system DSN</span> from the drop-down list.</li>
	<li>In the <span class="reference">DSN name</span> field select <span class="keyword">Siemens OpenOffice</span> from the drop-down list.</li>
	<li>In the <span class="reference">Frequency</span> field enter in <span class="keyword">5</span>.</li>
	<li>In the <span class="reference">DB script</span> field select <span class="keyword">Siemens OpenOffice</span> from the drop-down list.</li>
	<li>Finally, click on the <span class="button no_margin">Save</span> button.</li>

Configuring your SMDR output

By default, the SMDR output of a Siemens OpenOffice is not enabled. Contact your system maintainer to enable it for incoming, outgoing and internal calls.

Setting up a DSN connection

To enable TIM Plus to work with the Siemens OpenOffice, you first need to set up a DSN connection, by following the steps below:

  1. Open Windows Control Panel
  2. Double-click on the Administrative tools icon
  3. Double-click on the Data Sources (ODBC) icon to open the ODBC Data Source Administrator window

    For a 64 bit system, access the ODBC Data Source Administrator from the following location C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

  4. Click on the System DSN tab
  5. Click on the Add button
  6. Select Native from the driver list and click Finish
  7. In the Data source name field enter Siemens OpenOffice
  8. Click on the OK button to save the changes

Configuring the interface file

Follow the steps below to configure the interface file to establish an HTTPS connection with your Siemens OpenOffice:

  1. Open the
    Referencemacro
    LabelSiemens OpenOffice.TDT
    file, located by default in

    LabelC:\Program Files (x86)\Tri-Line\TIM Plus\config
    .
  2. Edit the file to point to the IP address of your Siemens OpenOffice and enter the relevant username and password, as shown below:

  3. Remove the apostrophe (') in front of the amended fields to enable them. An example of a configured interface file is shown below:

Configuring TIM Plus

Once the DSN connection has been set up, log in to TIM Plus and follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the Directory tab.
  2. Choose the site you want to configure and click Properties.

  3. In the Site Properties window, select Siemens OpenOffice from the PBX model drop-down list.
  4. In the Connection method field, select Connect to a system DSN from the drop-down list.
  5. In the DSN name field, select Siemens OpenOffice from the drop-down list.
  6. In the Frequency field, enter 5.
  7. In the DB script field, select Siemens from the drop-down list.
  8. Click on the Save button to apply the settings.
