<p>These instructions should assist in configuring your NEC DXE to 
work with TIM Enterprise. If you are not familiar with PBX 
configuration, please contact your system maintainer.</p>

<p>By default the NEC DXE doesn't have SMDR enabled. You will need to speak to your system maintainer to get SMDR enabled.</p>

<h2>Configuring TIM Enterprise</h2>

<p>Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Enterprise to listen for SMDR data from your NEC DXE:</p>

<ol>
	<li>Browse to TIM Enterprise as normal and login with your credentials.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">Directory</span> tab.</li>
	<li>Go the the point in the Directory where you need to add the PBX Object and add a PBX with the name 'NEC DXE'.</li>
	<li>Left-click on it and select <span class="button no_margin">Properties</span>.</li>
	<li>From the <span class="button no_margin">General</span> settings tab select <span class="keyword">NEC DXE</span> from the PBX model list.</li>

	<li>In the <span class="button no_margin">Connection</span> tab select <span class="keyword">No connection required</span> from the <span class="reference">Connection method</span> list.</li>
	<li>Finally, click on the <span class="button no_margin">Save</span> button.</li>

These instructions help you configure your NEC DXE phone system to work with TIM Plus. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

Configure your SMDR output

The NEC DXE phone system sends SMDR information via a serial connection. You need to directly connect a serial cable from your NEC DXE to the PC that NetPBX is installed and running on.

Configuring TIM Enterprise

Once NetPBX is configured and collecting data, log in to TIM Enterprise and perform the following steps:

  1. Click on the Directory tab.
  2. Choose the PBX object you want to configure and click Properties.
  3. A new window will open. In the General tab, select NEC Aspire from the Data format list and tick the Keep a local backup of data box, as shown below:

  4. In the Connection tab, select No connection required from the Connection method list.
  5. Click on the Save button to apply the settings.
